We are at your disposition

Contact us for any clarification!

We constantly strive to give children and young people the opportunity for a serene and constructive experience and we are convinced that the first prerequisite for this to be achieved is mutual cooperation with the family. That’s why below we publish some of the most frequent questions and answers on stays that are addressed to us and why we are available for any need…

How many years can you participate in summer camps?

For summer camps it is possible to participate from 7 years, completed on the date of the chosen shift, to 14 years completed in the current year. Children and young people will be divided into different age groups. We point out that the ages indicated are indicative and refer to the proposed educational method: it is the parents’ responsibility to agree with the Management, according to the specific maturity of the minor concerned, the appropriate placement for each age group.

Where do the boys stay?

Depending on the age of the guests there are different types of accommodation: 7-11 years in an Alpine home and 12-14 years in “raised tents”.

Will my 14-year-old son be with 7-year-olds child?

In order to safeguard the different needs and expectations, guests are divided into age groups (7-11, 12-14 years) who spend their stay in separate subfields carrying out activities appropriate to their age. In order for everyone to acquire an important role within the group, the “teams” are made up of boys of close and vertical age (7,8,9,10,11 years and 12,13,14) in a variable number according to the members . Few but significant moments of interaction between the age groups generally occur at the beginning and at the end of the stay.

Are the boys controlled?

The summer holidays have a very detailed educational program of activities that aims to educate while having fun and ways that involve the host children also in agreeing the drafting of the rules of the community. Being our “responsibility” objective, control in the traditional sense of the term is better defined as a “support by older brothers” of our educators (average age over 22 years and experience) present 24 hours a day, 1 in each 10 guests. In the case of important educational problems, the Camp Direction, in addition to coordinating with the educators the necessary immediate actions, interacts with the parents of the interested children, evaluating the different strategies for solving problems.

How and when is it possible to talk to the kids during the camp?

Autonomy is one of our most important educational goals and consequently guests can communicate with family members only for days and times communicated at the time of registration confirmation (generally 3 times during the stay) using their personal mobile phones previously deposited with the Management.

In exceptional cases requested and reported by the Management during the course of the camp, it will also be possible to send / receive e-mails intended to calm personal situations worthy of particular attention such as nostalgia, physical illness, etc. Direct communication with minor guests is not possible on other occasions except for urgent reasons.

How can I contact the camp management?
In the case of particular needs and / or personal attention that emerged during the camps and deserving specific attention, the Management itself contacts the relatives in order to favor a useful comparison and provide the correct information on health, difficulty of insertion, nostalgia, etc. . Having said this, and in a constructive and collaborative spirit, the Camp Direction is still available to provide information on under-age guests and to receive useful information to improve our “service”. Beyond the urgent cases (availability 24h on 24h) telephone contact during office hours is appreciated. Field contact details will be reported during registration confirmation.

Is it possible to visit the boys during the stay?
In order to protect the regular performance of the planned activities, to avoid the occurrence of difficulties of any kind, especially in the smallest guests, and out of respect for those children who cannot have equal opportunities, there are no visits by relatives and / or their representatives if not for urgent and only previously authorized cases. For the protection of minors, it is in any case forbidden for adults in general, even if they are related to minors, to access all the internal and external areas of the structures without explicit authorization.
What documents are needed?
The documents useful for participation are the following and must be delivered signed in original at the time of the child’s custody to the camp or to the accompanying persons of the organized trips:
  • REGISTRATION REQUEST useful to formalize the temporary custody of the child and the acceptance of the General Conditions of participation
  • HEALTH CARD completed in the 5 working days prior to departure after consultation with the attending physician and signed by parental responsibility
  • PERSONAL CARD, must be completed by the parents. It is not to be overlooked because it is very useful for the management of field dynamics.

In the case of minors from other EU countries it is necessary to be in possession of the TEAM card. If they come from other countries outside the EU, personal health insurance and a passport are also required.

NB In compliance with the relevant laws it is not possible to accept minors without the necessary documents filled in and signed.
Can my child be with his brother or his friend?
It must always be remembered that Campo Gulliver is an experience that wants to educate to personal autonomy and often the possibility of pre-existing relationships takes away important opportunities from this experience. It is however possible, in respect of age groups and organizational needs, to make a specific request to the Management in order to include in the same subfield the friends reported by both families. It is not possible to make this request for groups of friends superior to the two guests. The Management reserves the right to ponder every personal situation.
Do the kids have to take money with them?

Guests are requested to provide guests with a personal budget of no more than € 35, which must be deposited by the guests themselves at the Management at the time of arrival at the camp. In the event of further needs and unforeseen circumstances, the field management will be able to anticipate the necessary sums which will subsequently be returned to the family. It is advisable not to equip guests with watches, necklaces, rings, bracelets or other items of significant economic value, for which the Management assumes no responsibility.

Do I have to give my child any medicine?
It is not necessary to provide guests with common and generic medicines or medicines useful for first aid (plasters, disinfectants, painkillers, antifebrillants, etc.). Instead, it is necessary to equip guests with the medicines prescribed for ongoing therapies, and in this case we point out that only the medicines indicated in the health card will be administered. For security reasons it is in any case obligatory to deposit any type of medicine with the Management.

My child is allergic to “this or that”, what should I do?

Even before registering, it is necessary to report in writing any pathologies or allergies of the aspiring guest, in order to receive authorization to register. The organization, although willing to offer everyone the opportunity to participate, reserves the right to accept registration in the face of problems incompatible with the type of proposal.

My child is celiac or allergic to a food, what does the menu include?

The menu is unique, plentiful and varied and includes three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner). In the preparation of meals, the various needs certified by the attending physician are taken into consideration and must be reported with the registration request, in order to receive authorization to register and to better organize the possible administration of food.

Can I give my child some snack or candy?

In order to give correct eating habits and to maintain a correct preservation of all foods, it is not possible to provide any food supplied to guests, including sweets of rapid use such as sweets, chewing gum, etc.

If something happens and the kids get hurt or get sick?

In case of modest necessity, the Management consults with a reference doctor. In more important cases, in the area around the camp there are health facilities that can be reached relatively quickly. In any case, problems that are not even important, families will be promptly contacted and the interventions to be carried out will be evaluated. In this regard it is important to provide the field of reliable and always available contact details where you can be contacted in case of need.

How to reach Campo Gulliver?

Families have the opportunity to bring and take the children directly to the camp, but group transfer services are also provided with the assistance of our companions, as indicated in the price list. Time of arrival and departure from the camp for those accompanied, details, times and place of meeting for the group trip, will be communicated in the registration confirmation letter. Recommending the maximum punctuality, we invite the parents who accompany and take the children back to the camp to limit their stay to the essential. The road to reach the camp and the meeting place of the organized trips are indicated on this site on the “Where is” page.

What clothing and what are the things you need to bring to the field?
You will find an exhaustive list of what is necessary on the “What to bring” page. What we have indicated is, for our experience, sufficient, since it makes the reorganization by the boys of their personal things less demanding and faster, also considering that a washing is provided at mid-stay by the children themselves and with our assistance, of the linen personal intimacy. However, we recommend a suit suitable for camping life, practical, comfortable and that can be used without too much concern and anxiety by the kids. Sober and appropriate clothing is necessary for community life as well as respect for oneself and the sensitivity of other guests. For accident prevention purposes, it is advisable not to equip guests with necklaces, bracelets, showy earrings and piercings that can be dangerous during sports activities. If you deem it necessary, you can mark the items with the ID that will be assigned to you upon confirmation of registration.

Is it possible to get to know you or see the structure?

For the success of the stay and for the good of the children entrusted to us, it is our conviction that it is important to establish a relationship of trust and collaboration with the parents, so it is now customary to carry out some Open Days directly at the camp. On these occasions we will tell the values that animate us and that are the foundation of the whole educational structure of the camps as well as our educational methods, we will give parents the opportunity to see the structure, meet some educators and parents already participating, and clarify the doubts and have all the information possible for a calm and informed choice.

However, it is always possible to meet us by appointment at our secretarial office in Trezzo sull’Adda (MI).
